125 has never been a magazine to shy away from controversy, so when opting for RELIGION as the theme for their 17th issue they were well prepared for the collective consciousness of their contributors to present them with some difficult choices. But as usual they were surprised by a diverse range of influences, and in particular the simple beauty of the work. Without a priest or nun in sight the RELIGION issue is a collection of gentle, restrained images with a faint nod to the ecclesiastical theme which inspired them, contributors this time include some returning favourites like Roy Wilkinson, Jiggery Pokery and Damian Blinkk alongside first time contributors which include Adam Whitehead, Emma Tempest and a 17 year old star of the future Eleanor Hardwick. And finally the new and expanded features section continues to grow, this time with a diverse range of essays on creativity, heroine chic amd Jesus, plus in-depth interviews and retrospectives with artists such as Miles Aldridge, Hedi Slimane, Wolfe von Lenkiewicz, D*Face, and many more.
125 is the only magazine in the world to act as a completely unbiased gallery space, showcasing new work and ideas by creatives across the worlds of photography and fashion. 125 is open to both emerging and established artists, and makes contemporary photographic art available to all through its unique print sales service.
