Architecture is the mother of all arts.
In the past, however, most architects were secluded in ivory towers, whereas today’s designers are in the thick of society as never before. Architects have become pop stars, complete with fan clubs. They design retail spaces for big-name brands and create the furniture that surrounds us. Architecture has amassed a wide audience that gets its daily fix of design news from newspaper reports and TV programmes. And architecture blogs have put the discipline smack in the middle of the public domain that we know as the internet. Mark Magazine sees itself as a platform for the practice and perception of architecture at the dawn of the third millennium.
