A modern magazine tracing the roots of style.
When scanning through the fashion and style section of your local international magazine store have you noticed the avalanche of independent magazines all claiming to be doing something new?
Each has their own handwriting and unique set of contributors but most are chasing the same high fashion or Hoxton-, Lower East Side-aesthetic that dominates both women's and men's fashion publications at the end of the first decade of the 21st century. Some are producing great copy, such as 10Men and AnOther Man, but Men's File doesn't want to compete with these, nor with the vast array of magazines trying to copy them.
Men's File is NOT about the clothes that were, last year, on a Paris or New York catwalk but is about the men [ and women ] who very often have, unknowingly, given inspiration to designers, photographers and fashionistas across the world. These people have dedicated their lives to style.
Some are purists, wearing only the garb of a very specific bygone era and even avoiding modern technology while others mix classic fashion with modern forms of beautifully designed transport, architecture and sporting goods. These true individuals can be found working in the arts, as you would expect, but also in many other walks of life. Men's File intends to profile those who have had the dedication to say: ' I'm doing something different and I don't care who acknowledges it'.
