This book brings together a photographic collection of old men's tattoos made from the 1940s through the 1970s.
They are at the point that all tattoos promise to reach: an embodiment of the passing of time, a permanent relic from an age when tattooing meant something vastly different to what it means today. As such, they remain outside of the ebbs and flows of tattoo culture, foundational but sovereign.
