Reasons to be Cheerful. The Life and Work of Barney Bubbles 31.90 €

Reasons to Be Cheerful celebrates the graphic design genius of Barney Bubbles, whose work links the underground optimism of the 60s to the sardonic and manipulative art which accompanied punks explosion. He remains a powerful influence on contemporary artists a quarter of a century after his death.

Bubbles designed for Sir Terence Conran and underground magazines OZ and Friends and created remarkable record sleeve and posters for Hawkwind, Elvis Costello, Ian Dury, Nick Lowe, The damned and Billy Bragg. He collaborated with artists and photographers including set designs and promo videos.

Reasons to Be Cheerful contains hundreds of rare and previously unpublished images, photographs, working sketches, notebooks and original artwork.

'Barney Bubbles is the missing link between pop and culture.' - Peter Saville

'Barney's work is pop art at it's best - immediate, engaging, challenging on every level.' - Billy Bragg
