Stash magazine is the planet’s only monthly video showcase of animation, VFX and motion graphics. Each issue is packed with innovative commercials, broadcast design, music videos, virals, branded content, game cinematics, short films, behind the scenes material plus bonus films and music tracks.
Also tucked inside the case you’ll find a 40-page companion book of color stills, editorials, credits, links and tech notes.

Sit back, open your cranium and let Stash 49 take you on a high-altitude tour of the planet’s most innovative and outstanding animation, VFX and motion design companies and projects.

Your departure comes via two spectacular United Airlines spots: the first from Black Heart Gang and their new studio Shy the Sun and the second from the teaming of Passion Pictures directors SSSR and Gaelle Denis. From there we navigate through a series of unpredictable updrafts like Akama’s grand new opus for Lotus, Psyop’s stylish new spots for Stoli and Smith & Nephew, tokyoplastic’s baroque-ish take on connectivity for Nokia and Eric Lerners’s Olympian nesting efforts for Coke through PartizanLab.

And speaking of unpredictable, check out the broadcast and open work this month: Freakish alien-esque MTV IDs from Umeric, macro-grotesque OFFF conference titles from Devoid of Yesterday, tightly choreographed Discovery work from Eyeball, frenetic Mr. Potato Head antics from Nau for MTV, all capped off with painterly transcendence from Martyn Pick and th1ng for the London Development Agency.

The music videos on Stash 49 provide four more reasons to keep your seatbelt snug: My Morning Jacket “Touch Me I'm Going To Scream, Part 2” from Mixtape Club, Temposhark "Blame" from Motomichi Nakamura, The Octopus Project “An Evening With RTHRTHA” from Stash newcomers Double Triple and the lobe-twisting masterwork called “Brave Bulging Buoyant Clairvoyants” for Wild Beasts which marks the Stash debut of UK studio Oneinthree.

Other fresh names on the Stash roster this month include Tata Elxsi from Bangalore, Julia Dobesch from Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, AB5TRAX from Los Angeles, ANNY from Japan and GAZZ from Buenos Aires. Our closing film this month, a 3D Southern Gothic gem called “The Red Suitcase”, comes from the fertile brainpans of UK talents Paul Freed and Sulkybunny – also making their first appearance in Stash.

There’s lots more of course, including the best new work from Nike Design Lab, Make, Ntropic, Convert and Framestore.

The BONUS FILMS on Stash 49 form our first Video Game Mini-fest and include killer new 3D treats for three gaming sequels: Logan for Resistance 2, Axis Animation for Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising and Shilo for Mercenaries 2. The BONUS MUSIC on Stash 49 is a beatbox full of nine MP3s from Now-Again Records guaranteed to lower the mercury of your play list including tracks from Mr. Chop, Heliocentrics, Karl Hector, Whitefield Brothers, MRR-ADM, Lightmen Plus One, Koushik, Karl Hector and Triorganico.

Running time: 64 minutes
